In partnership with NASA and the All Girls Stem Society, we host annual NASA Astro Camps designed to make STEM and space exploration approachable and accessible. This initiative focuses specifically on reaching and empowering girls from local low-income and Title 1 schools. Our team completed official NASA facilitator training, developed and tested custom curriculum, and hosted the camp sessions to ensure an impactful experience for every participant.
To connect classroom concepts to real-world careers, we host live NASA guest speakers including Lauren Williams and Spencer Wells who shared their unique pathways and industry insights with the campers
We customized five hands-on, robotics-in-space-themed activities to give students practical engineering experience. Rather than just learning theory, the campers actively engaged in problem-solving through projects such as:
Building a rubber band-powered rover to explore mechanical propulsion.
Optimizing a mini mobile launcher platform to understand structural stability and launch logistics.
Material impact testing to study how different elements withstand outer space conditions.
By lowering economic and social barriers to high-level STEM mentorship, this program successfully welcomed 180+ girls into the local aerospace and robotics community. Through teamwork and interactive design challenges, these students left camp with increased confidence in their technical abilities and a deeper curiosity about future careers in aerospace engineering.
